GRAY DAZE

In the series titled “Gray Daze” I engaged my community in dialogue by having conversations with twenty masculine-identifying people who are friends or acquaintances. We spoke about their relationship to ideas of mental health and thoughts of suicide. I then proceeded to do portraits of them. Oftentimes men or other people in my community who present as masculine are present but not seen, especially in the discourse around mental health. I employed this process to create a safe space to engage in conversations that may not happen otherwise.
